Out in the heights of snow-capped mountains
 In barren wastes is where it springs to life
 Its melting crystal raindrops fill a clear pond
 Quenching birds and beasts that are enticed
 Perfect beauty
 A peaceful silence
 Where streams gently meander downhill
 Slowly growing
 A majestic river
 For centuries passing by as if time stood still
 Flowing on
 Towards the sun
 A mighty river flowing from the highlands
 Where nature rules a lost kingdom of peace
 From the distant west into the world of mankind
 Into the crowded cities in the east
 It's clear waters
 Turning darker
 The factories pollute its shallow bed
 Their children's future
 Longtime forgotten
 We wash our hands in innocence they said
 Wanting more
 They fight their war
