Going to War

Ever since the dawn of time men fought in battles
 With results shaping our destiny
 Once again we find ourselves facing a struggle
 With our own kin as the enemy
 Leaders of men with twisted ideologies
 Put to use to raise the mightiest armies
 Negotiations just a useless masquerade
 To give in would mean to surrender
 Diplomacy has failed
 No more room to compromise
 The only solution is going
 To war
 No reason to believe
 There is another way
 Going to war
 Settling the score
 We sacrifice our sons
 To go to war
 As the bullets fly with the smell of death filling the air
 Soldiers fall on the battlefield
 Do we have the right to ask the question: is it fair
 To sacrifice for an ideal?
 When the war is over, who wins or loses in the end?
 Soldiers, countries, you or me?
 As those in power they plot to go to war again
 From their towers made of ivory
 Diplomacy has failed
