I Hate Music

I hate music, it ruined my life
 I shoulda had a job, a house and a wife
 Instead I got no future, just a DUI
 and I'll probably have to gig until the day that I die
 Some folks look forward to the weekends and fun
 But my gig starts when their work is done
 They all go out for a night on the town
 See an asshole like me act like a clown
 At least I'm doin' what I want, that's what they think
 'Cause I couldn't stand to play, if I didn't drink
 The songs people love are the ones I hate most
 But you know I won't mind 'em, as soon as I'm toast
 Now rock and roll's got benefits that other jobs lack
 you can lose your hearing, and throw out your back
 And if you like to travel, travel you can
 Out to east Jesus in a broken down van
 And you don't even have to buy cigarettes
 'Cause the room's all filled up with the smoke that you get
 And the girls that come in, they might wish you well
 But you know they'll be leavin' with somebody else
 And you're makin' a CD to hit the big time
 But you better sell a million if you wanna see a dime
 And at least it's exposure - that's what they say
 But you can die of exposure in less than a day
 Now I ain't complainin', I made my choice
 And I better shut up 'cause I'm losin' my voice
 But when somebody asks me how I like what I do,
 I look 'em in the eyes and I tell 'em the truth, I say
